George Blaida

George Blaida was born Tuesday, February 4, 1919 in Downers Grove, Illinois, son of Joseph Blaida and Sophia Burek. He married Lucille Sabatino on July 14, 1979 at Lombard, Illinois. He worked as a Department Manager for Jewell Foods. George Blaida was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. George lived in Mountain Home for 29 years moving from Lombard, Illinois. He was a member of VFW, American Legion, Polish-American Club, Bowled in several bowling leagues in Mtn. Home and enjoyed Golf and gardening. Survivors: his wife, Lucille Blaida and 2 Sons, Keith G. (Barbara) Blaida of Itasca, IL., and Craig J. (Carolyn) Blaida of Boerne, TX, 2 Daughters, Danise (Tom) Gabriel-Corning of Rancho Cucamonga, CA., and Vickie L. (Phil) Posillico of Hamilton, MA., 7 grandchilldren, 1 great grandson, Brother, Lawrence (Mary) Blaida of Brevard, NC, Sister, Lucille Powell of North Little Rock, AR. Preceded in Death by: parents and 2 sisters. Visitation: Visitation will be from 1-4 P.M., Wednesday, January 14 at Kirby and Family Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral: Funeral Service for George Joseph Blaida of Mountain Home, AR, will be 4:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at Kirby and Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend James Fanrak officiating. Burial: Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Friday in the Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, Illinois. Memorials: Memorials may be made to the St. Peter's Catholic Church or Good Samaritan Village.
