Mr. George E. Mayhue, 71, of Webb City, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2015, following a long battle with cancer.
George was born on August 18, 1943, in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, son of the late Clyde and Marie Mayhue. He was a longtime resident of Webb City. He married his late wife Maggie Mayhue in Carterville, Missouri. Together they had three children. George held many jobs over the years, he served in the U.S. Marines and retired from the City of Webb City. He enjoyed NASCAR, working out in his workshop and spending time with family.
He is survived by his two daughters, Marianne Phillips and husband, Joe, and Sherri Bailey and husband, Tim; three brothers, David, Jimmy and Mike Mayhue; along with two sisters, Jackie Cones and Roby Greek; five grandchildren, Jacob Johnson of the home, Brandy Riley and
husband, Shawn, Tim Bailey, Jr., Dezi Bailey and Shawna Bailey; one great grandson, Brayden Riley; and numerous foster grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Maggie; a daughter, Aimee Kate Mayhue; a sister, Clydean Robbins; and a brother, Billy Roy Mayhue.
Funeral services for Mr. Mayhue are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2015 in the Chapel of Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Bishop officiating.
Burial will follow in the Webb City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6-7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
