George Nielsen

George L. Nielsen was born September 20, 1919 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was the son of George Arthur and Lydia Peterson Nielsen. He married Jean Lorraine Hedberg in Minneapolis, Minnesota on November 22, 1940. He served with the US Navy during World War II and was a former Traffic Signal Specialist and General Foreman Electrician for the city of Minneapolis for 33 years. He was a member of Zuhrah Temple Shrine, Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, AF & AM Masons of Minneapolis Royal Arch Masons, Scoutmaster and Scoutmaster Trainer, and for many years earned the Order of the Silver Beaver. Mr. Nielsen moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas in April 1997 from Orange City, Florida. He was also a member of First Presbyterian Church. George L. Nielsen passed away at Baxter Regional Medical Center on February 8, 2005 at the age of 85 years, 4 months and 18 days. Survivors: His wife of 65 years, Jean of Mountain Home; two daughters, Judy (Randy) Brademann of Mountain Home and Deb Davis of Maple Grove, Minnesota; one son, Don (Ava) Nielsen of Plymouth, Minnesota; six grandchildren, Tami, Penny, Lisa, Laura, Drew and Dane; six great-grandchildren, Joey, Mindy, Victoria, Matthew, Ricky and Dylan; two sisters, Joyce Goll of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Lois Olson of Leesburg, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in Death by: His parents, one brother and a grandchild, Wendi Funeral: Memorial service for George Lloyd Nielsen of Mountain Home will be at Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, February 13, 2005 at 3:00 P.M. with Dr. William Henning officiating.
