Georgia P. Leighty was born March 27, 1924, at Tennessee, Illinois, to George D. and Nellie Moran Webb. She graduated from Colchester High School and Quincy Business College and married William ?Bill? Leighty on December 11, 1943 at Colchester, Illinois. Mrs. Leighty worked at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb, Illinois before moving to Arkansas in 1966 where they owned and operated a resort in Lakeview. After selling it she worked at Baxter Lab for 20 years. She was a member of Bull Shoals United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, the Red Hat Society, and Bull Shoals Senior Club. She enjoyed her family and many friends. She loved to bowl and play card Survivors: Mrs. Leighty is survived by a son, Rodney L. Leighty, of Nauvoo, Illinois, daughter, Shirley Jones, of Lakeview, brother, James Webb, of Atlanta, Illinois, 2 sisters Donna Dorethy, of Lakeview, Arkansas, Margret Atchison, of Macomb, Illinois, one granddaughter, 4 grandsons, 6 great grandchildren, along with a host of nieces and nephews. Preceded in Death by: She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 granddaughter, 1 sister, and 3 brothers. Visitation: Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. at Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home in Bull Shoals. Funeral: Funeral services for Georgia Pauline Leighty of Mountain Home will be at Bull Shoals United Methodist Church at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday August 22, 2006 with Reverend Nicholas Lascaro officiating. Burial: Burial will be in Baxter Memorial Gardens. Memorials: Memorials may be made to Bull Shoals United Methodist Church or Hospice House. Active Bearers: Orville Mears, John Swearinger, Merlin Dorethy, Randy Jones, Raymond G. Jones, Charlie Mahoney, Rick Leighty, and Rod Leighty will serve as pallbearers.
