Gerald Adkerson

Gerald Adkerson died Wednesday, December 24, 2008 in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 55 years, 6 months and 5 days. He was born Friday, June 19, 1953 in Mountain Home, Arkansas, son of Jakie Stevens Adkerson and Mabel Irene (Cunningham) Adkerson. He worked as a roofer for most of his working life, and was a craftsman who took pride in his work. A lifetime area resident, he had been a guide on the White River, enjoyed fishing and hunting, and was a hard worker. He enjoyed time with his family and friends, relished his role as an Uncle and was an accomplished gardener who loved to grill out. Survivors: Curly Adkerson is survived by two brothers, Donald (Julie) Adkerson of Gassville, AR, and Carl Adkerson of Independence, MO; a sister, Elizabeth Blodgett of Gladstone, MO; nephews, Mike (Stacy) Adkerson of Cotter, AR, and James Adkerson of Mountain Home, AR; niece, Melissa Adkerson of Gassville, AR; and several great nieces and nephews. Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, and 4 brothers. Funeral: Memorial services for Gerald "Curly" Adkerson of Cotter, AR, will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 29, 2008 at Cotter Baptist Church.
