Memorial services for Geraldine "Gerri" Elizabeth Haenisch of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, October, 1, 2010 at First United Methodist Church with Reverend Randy Ludwig officiating. Gerri died Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at her residence at the age of 94. She was born June 8, 1916 in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the daughter of George and Harriet Bolster Faber. She married Herman Haenisch on October 30, 1937 at Chicago, Illinois and worked as a Registered Nurse for Central Du Page Hospital. Gerri lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas since 1973 moving from Wheaton, Illinois. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Mountain Home and United Methodist Women. She has served on many committees in the United Methodist Church and most recently the Building Committee. She was a former member of the Retired Fisherman Club, Rivercliff Ladies Golf League and Women?s Century Club of Mountain Home. She was the founder of the Women's Auxiliary of Central Du Page Hospital, Winfield Illinois and former Life Governor of Central Du Page Hospital. She loved to travel and has been to every continent except Antarctica. She loved reading and meeting people from all over the world. Geraldine is survived by 2 sons, Fredrick (Nellie) Haenisch of Rogers, AR and George (Arline) Haenisch of Elmhurst, IL; daughter-in-law, Judy Haenisch of Lakeview, AR, son-in-law, Leo Smoot of Bartlett, IL, 12 grandchildren, Kimberly, Herman, Elizabeth, Glenn, Scott, Stacy, Tina, Jamie Jo, Eric, Jason, Margaret and George, Jr. and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Herman Haenisch, daughter, Susan Smoot, sister, Pauline Edelmann and granddaughter, Nicole Avila. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund. Arrangements are by Kirby & Family Funeral & Cremation Services.
