Gertrude Holmes

Gertrude Holmes died Tuesday, February 26, 2008 in Little Rock at the age of 91. Gertrude Holmes was born Wednesday, March 15, 1916 in Marion County, Indiana, the daughter of Frank and Estella Josephine Waldon Osborn. She married Allen T. Holmes on September 1, 1935 at Indianapolis, Indiana and was a homemaker. Gertrude lived in the Cherokee Village and Mountain Home area since 1974, moving from Indianapolis, Indiana. Mrs. Holmes had moved to Little Rock in 2007 to be near her daughter. Survivors: Gertrude Holmes is survived by her daughter, Debra A. Holmes of Sherwood, Ar.; son, Philip E. Holmes of Indianapolis, IN. Preceded in Death by: She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Allen T. Holmes and brother - Francis J. Osborn and two sisters, Myrle Witt and Genevieve Busenbarrick and companion of 13 years, Leroy Kneip. Funeral: Memorial services for Gertrude Esther Holmes of Little Rock, AR, will be in Indiana. Burial: Burial will be in the K. of P. Cemetery, Liston, Indiana. Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer Association or Arkansas Hospice House.
