A Funeral Service for Gibbins Dawson of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, July 21, 2016, at Twin Lakes Baptist Church, with Dr. Sam Bailey officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until time of service at the church.
Gibbins passed away July 18, 2016, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 70. He was born November 28, 1945, in Evening Shade, Arkansas, the son of Robert and Faye Hamilton Dawson. He married Linda Grissom on October 24, 2014, at Mountain Home, Arkansas and worked as a lumber distributor for Weyerhaeuser. Gibbins lived in Mountain Home since June of 2014, moving from Memphis, Tennessee. He enjoyed fishing and playing guitar. He was a great man, a great father and loved his family.
Gibbins is survived by his wife, Linda Dawson of Mountain Home, AR; daughter, Deborah (Mark) Davis of Bartlett, TN; two sons, Jason Dawson of Memphis, TN and Adam (Lynn) Dawson of Southaven, MS; grandchildren, Garrett and Dalton Dawson; step-grandchildren, Travis, Bessie and Taylor Rowell; two stepsons, Tim (LaRhonda) Hicks of Batesville, AR and Anthony (Robin) Hicks of Berryville, AR; step-grandchildren, Jordan (Colby) Sutton, Brooklyn and Emmett Hicks; brother, Dearl (Dorothy) Dawson of Edmond, OK and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Johnny, Winston and Armax Dawson.
Burial will be in the Old Baptist Cemetery, Ash Flat, Arkansas, with Donnie, Ray and Tim Dawson, Mark Davis, Kevin Grissom and Tim Abney as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Travis Rowell, Roger Goodson, Garrett and Dalton Dawson.
Memorials may be made to the Twin Lakes Baptist Church.
