A Funeral Service for Gilford Frank McConnell, 83, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 10:00 am, Sunday, December 9, 2012, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Mr. Ralph Harrison officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Saturday, December 08, 2012, at the funeral home.
Frank passed away December 2, 2012, in Mountain Home. He was born March 12, 1929, in Galatia, Illinois, the son of Gilford and Madie Gentry McConnell. He married Mattie Browning August 29, 1959, at Shawneetown, Illinois and worked for the Ford Motor Company as a salvage repairman. Frank lived in Mountain Home, since 1988 moving from Mantino, Illinois. He enjoyed wood carving, playing pool and cards. He was a car enthusiast and enjoyed stock car races and riding motorcycles.
Frank is survived by his wife, Mattie McConnell of Mountain Home, AR; son, Scott (Cindy) McConnell of Mountain Home, AR; grandchildren, Josh (Megan) Clemence of Fayetteville, AR, Jeremy Clemence of Fayetteville, AR and Jessica Clemence of Mountain Home, AR, sister, Delores Muenstermann of Marion, IL as well as many neices and nephews and faithful companion "Sam".
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Joe "Pete" McConnell and sisters, Virginia Sullivan and Winnie Wilson.
Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas, with Tim McConnell, Terry McConnell, Wm Paul Browning, Clarence Harney, Josh Clemence and Jeremy Clemence as pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks.
