Glen Bucher

Flippin

Glen Edward Bucher, age 67, of Flippin, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2024, in Flippin. He was born on March 21, 1957, in Salina, Kansas, the son of Billy and Anastasia Hair Bucher. Glen is now reunited in spirit with his parents and his brother, Samuel Bucher, who preceded him in death.

On October 11, 1988, Glen married the love of his life, Vicki Hosford, in Yellville, Arkansas, and together they shared 36 years of love, laughter, and adventure. A man of many talents and passions, Glen was a well-respected river guide and cherished his time spent on the water, introducing others to the beauty of nature. He made Flippin his home in 1980 after relocating from Sydney, Nebraska, and became an integral part of the local community. Glen’s love for the outdoors extended beyond river guiding to include fishing, flint knapping, and motorcycle riding. Music was a significant part of Glen's life. He was a talented musician who loved playing the harmonica and banjo, and his eclectic taste in music reflected his free-spirited nature. From the soulful bagpipes that echoed his Scottish roots to the timeless tunes of Neil Young, Pink Floyd, the Grateful Dead, and Zac Brown, music brought him joy and served as a soundtrack to his life. In many ways, Glen lived his life much like the lyrics of Zac Brown's song "Free"-Glen is free as he will ever be.

Glen's legacy will live on through his beloved family. He is survived by his wife, Vicki Bucher of Flippin; his son, Seann (Robbin) Hosford of New Port Richey, Florida; his daughter, Erinn Hosford of Jacksonville, Alabama; and his sister-in-law, Marla Bucher of Dover, Arkansas and nephew, Deryk Bucher of Dover, AR. He was a proud grandfather to Logan McCurry, Gavin Packley, Francis Packley, Shelbie Hosford, and Zoe Hosford, and a loving great-grandfather to Serena Mendoza.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3PM, November 30, 2024, at Kirby and Family Funeral Home in Bull Shoals, AR.
