Glen Napier

Glen Napier died Wednesday, February 4, 2009 in Mountain Home at the age of 78. He was born Saturday, May 17, 1930 in Colfax, Arkansas, the son of Pleas and Utha Young Napier. He chased "Hoover Hogs" through the great depression and then joined the armed forces and served through the Korean Conflict. He was stationed in Japan, Korea, Germany, France and bases in the U.S. before retiring in 1967. He married Toshiko Seckiguchi on December 14, 1948 at Yokohama, Japan. He owned and operated Napier Farms and Baxter Co. Feed from 1967 until 2007. He received great enjoyment from the children that came into the store. He became an ordained minister in 1999 at the age of 69. Survivors: Glen Napier is survived by his wife, Toshiko Napier and 2 sons, Dr. Ron (Roxanne) Napier of Austin, TX and Don (Linda) Napier of Mountain Home, AR, 1 daughter, Ellen (Dr. Bob) Ahrens, RN of Flippin, AR, grandchildren, Dr. Amos (Tracy) Ahrens of Springfield, MO, Julia Napier of Cambridge, MA, Amy Napier of Springfield, MO and Sacha (Tyler) Garris of Mountain Home, AR, great-grandchildren, Jackson Ahrens, Eva and Isaac Garris, 3 sisters, Dorothy Garrison, Venita Duggins both of Mountain Home, AR and Kay Postma of Kansas City, MO and a host of nieces and nephews. Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Guy Napier and brothers-in-law, E.J. Duggins and Kenneth Garrison. Visitation: Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until service time, Sunday, February 8 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral: Funeral services for Glen Wells Napier of Mountain Home, AR, will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 8, 2009 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Louis Stephens officiating. Burial: Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas. Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Hopewill Baptist Church.
