Glenda Elaine Bitner

Glenda Elaine Bitner of Lakeview, Arkansas, passed away November 29, 2024, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 91. She was born January 29, 1933, in Glasford, Illinois, the daughter of Loyd and Maireda Clauson Gouff. On August 9, 1951, Glenda married Virgil L. Bitner in Glasford, Illinois, and she was a member of the Baptist Church of Glasford. Glenda was a devoted homemaker, raising her children and nurturing her family. In 1971, she and Virgil made the move to Lakeview, Arkansas, where they owned and operated the Waterfront Resort for 14 years, creating lasting memories for many.

Glenda is survived by her sons, Bill (Pam) Bitner of Lakeview, AR, and David Bitner (Georgette Ripple) of Schertz, TX; daughter, Alisa (Russell) Henderson of Claremore, OK; grandchildren, Cari, Ben, Zac, Nicole, Jessica, Derek; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and daughter, Cathy Volk. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks, 811 Burnett Drive, Mountain Home, AR.
