Graveside Services for Glenn Allen Cox of Searcy, Arkansas, formerly of Mountain Home, will be 2:00 pm Sunday, June 26, 2011 at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, with Reverend Louis Stephens officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Ozark V.F.W. Post #3246 Honor Guard. Glenn died Thursday, June 23, 2011 at his residence, at the age of 80. He was born April 14, 1931 in Searcy, Arkansas, the son of Glen N. and Nancy Foster Cox. He married Floy Adeline Heath on February 4, 1977 at Venita, Oklahoma. Glenn was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. He retired from the Army after 21 years of service. Glenn was a lifetime resident of Arkansas and was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and Ozark V.F.W. Post #3246. Glenn is survived by his 1 daughter, Glenna Barlow of Searcy, AR; 1 step-son, Charles Baxa of Edmund, OK; 4 grandchildren, Emily (Joey) Ferguson, Zachary (Tabitha) Cox, Samuel (Jessica) Morris, Bradley (Tonya) Cox; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, William (Vera) Cox of Searcy, AR; 2 sisters, Margaret McDaniel of Searcy, AR and Linda (Kenneth) Staggs of Jacksonville, AR; and the mother of his children, Barbara Allen of Searcy, AR. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 1 son Allen William Cox, 1 brother, Oran Wyatt and 1 sister, Helen Bass. Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Hospice, 410 N. Apple, Searcy, AR 72143. Arrangements are by Kirby & Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
