Glenn Broome died Sunday, August 19, 2007 at the Hospice House at the age of 69. Glenn Broome was born September 2, 1937 at Hattiesburg, Mississippi to Louis Watson Broome and Hilda Margaret McDonald Broome. He married Jonni Johnson on September 2, 1961 in Theodore, Alabama. Glenn was a retired firefighter with the City of Mobile, Alabama and a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during the Korean War. Glenn was a member of East Side Baptist Church and an active member of Promise Keepers, the Church Benevelence and was active for many years with the Christian Clinic. Survivors: his wife, Jonni; three sons, Anthony (Beth) Broome of Wildwood, Mo., Andrew (Angela) Broome and Benjamin (Amanda) Broome of Mountain Home; one brother, Harvey Broome of Mobile, Ala., 7 grandsons, Michael, Bryan, Warren, Cullen, Eli, Easton and Ryan Broome and 2 step-grandchildren, Dedrick and Jainy Green. Preceded in Death by: his parents and 2 sisters Visitation: 6:00 - 9:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home. Funeral: Funeral Services for Glenn O. Broome of Mountain Home will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at East Side Baptist Church with Dr. Michael Shy officiating.
