Gloria Smock

Funeral Services for Gloria Ann Smock, 81, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 12:00 pm, Saturday, December 8, 2012, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, with Reverend Marillyn Schultz officiating. Visitation will be 9:00 am until service time at the church. Gloria passed away December 6, 2012, in Mountain Home, Arkansas, surrounded by her family and friends at Good Samaritan. She was born March 3, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Paul and Marie (Alde) Scheurer. She married Ralph C. Smock April 16, 1953, at Chicago, Illinois, and was a homemaker. They were happily married for almost 60 years. Gloria lived in Mountain Home since 1987, moving from Chicago. She was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church and belonged to the WELCA group. She loved to work cross word puzzles and was loved by her Good Samaritan family. Gloria is survived by her husband, Ralph C. Smock of Mountain Home, AR; five children, Beth Ann (Leslie) Ast of Michigan City, IN; Ralph E. Smock of Michigan City, IN; David (Rita) Smock, of Chicago, IL; Dennis (Margaret) Smock of Chicago, IL; and Allen R. (Amy) Smock of Palos Hills, IL; eleven grandchildren (2 of whom are serving our country), two great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Ron and Kenneth Scheurer. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Society of Mountain Home or Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
