A Memorial Service for Goldie Hermann will be held at Bull Shoals United Methodist Church at 3:00 PM on Thursday, March 11, 2010 with Reverend Nicholas Lascaro officiating.
Goldie Hermann of Lakeview, Arkansas died at Baxter Regional Medical Center on March 1, 2010. She was 96 years old.
Goldie was born April 12, 1913 in Coalmont, IN to Charles and Minnie Fulford West. She married Paul Hermann on June 3rd, 1930, in Bensenville, IL. Goldie was a woman before her time. She served her country during WWII, like many others, as a ?Rosie the Riveter,? and later operated a successful Chicago-area magazine and cigar store when many other women stayed home. She was a resilient woman who maintained her balance and independence through all of life?s transitions.
Goldie is survived by her daughter Patricia Hermann and her partner Nancy Lamia of Elgin, IL, two daughters-in-law, Mary Jeanette ?Winnie? Hermann of Savannah, GA and Georgeann Cummings of Belleair, FL, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons.
