A Family Graveside Funeral Service for Gordon Aylor of Bull Shoals, Arkansas, will be held at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum Open Air Chapel, with Dr. Tad Rogers officiating.
Gordon Wesley Aylor was born on December 17, 1934 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He went to be with his Lord on February 19, 2018 in Mechanicsville, Virginia, at the age of 83. He graduated from Messick High School and Memphis State University in Memphis, Tennessee, and completed his Master’s Degree of Education at the University of Virginia. He taught geography and social studies in the Waynesboro,Virginia Public Schools for over thirty years. After retirement he moved to Bull Shoals, Arkansas.
He was active in church work at First Baptist Church in Waynesboro, Virginia, and later at First Baptist Church in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He loved airplanes and enjoyed flying his glider over the beautiful Shenandoah Valley,Virginia. He enjoyed golf, fishing, canoeing, and traveling, especially camping and taking cruises, and making wonderful memories with his daughters and family.
Gordon is survived by his three daughters, Janet (Michael) Roach of Montpelier, VA, Suzanne (William) Dadzie of Kailua-Kona, HA and Kamron (Steve) Satterwhite of Glen Allen, VA, and seven grandchildren, Ginny (Thomas) O'Connor, Jim Roach, Emily and Mason Satterwhite and Charlotte, Liam and Stella Dadzie. He is also survived by his sister, Virginia (Jim) Avery of Bull Shoals, AR.
Gordon was preceded in death by Harriet Seymour Aylor, his wife of 56 years.
