Gordon Steffan

Gordon Steffan died Monday, December 3, 2007 in Mountain Home. He was 89. Gordon Steffan was born Friday, December 28, 1917 in Elgin, Illinois, son of Ernest and Minnie Krempke Steffan . He married Ruth Althen on April 21, 1942 at Elgin, Illinois. He was self employed in Road Construction for 35 years and was an Army veteran of WWII. Gordon lived in Mountain Home for 13 years moving from Elgin, Illinois. He was a member of American Legion and VFW, and loved music. Survivors: his wife, Ruth Steffan; son, Roger (Carol) Steffan of Sugar Grove, IL; 2 daughters, Marcia Wechselberger of Round Lake, IL and Linda Dicken of Mountain Home, AR; 2 Sisters, Bernice Lazear, CO and Marion Miller of St. Charles, IL; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Preceded in Death by: his parents, 4 brothers, and 1 sister. Funeral: Memorial Services for Gordon Fredrick Steffan of Mountain Home, AR, will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 6, 2007 at First Presbyterian Church, with Dr. Fred Taylor, officiating.
