Gussie Fox Correll passed away November 25, 2006, at her home in Mountain Home. She was born August 26, 1912, to Charles and Augusta Fox in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. She spent many years in Bay City, Texas, as a beloved wife and mother rearing her children and being active in her church and community. She married William George Correll on April 9, 1978, and together they enjoyed 24 years together in Wharton, Texas. Survivors: She is survived by her husband Bill, 2 sons: Charles Slone and wife Tommye of Richmond, Texas; Wayne Slone and wife Mercy of Mountain Home, Arkansas, one daughter: Barbara Crotts and husband Mike, also of Mountain Home, one step-son: Donn Correll and wife Judy, of Brazoria, Texas, 10 grandchildren; Bruce, Blake, Brenda, Tod, Keet, Leigh Ann, Susan, Kirk, Daniel, and Wendy; 2 step-grandsons Scott and Bruce; and a large number of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Preceded in Death by: She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband L.M. Slone, and an infant son Robert, as well as 10 brothers and sisters and their spouses. Visitation: Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Wharton Funeral Home in Wharton, Texas. Funeral: A Funeral Service will be at the First Baptist Church in Wharton, Texas, where she and her husband are members, at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 29. Burial: Evergreen Memorial Park in Wharton, Texas Memorials: Hospice of the Ozarks in Mountain Home, Arkansas Active Bearers: Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
