A Celebration of Life for Harold "Red" Ahrens of Bull Shoals, AR, will be at the family home, 412 River Cliff Drive, Bull Shoals, AR, Wednesday, August 5, from 1:00 until 4:00 pm.
Harold Ahrens died Friday, July 31, 2009 in Bull Shoals at the age of 72. Mr. Ahrens was born Friday, October 30, 1936 in Harvey, Illinois, son of Harold W. and Ruth Burns Ahrens. He worked as an Electrical Engineer for General Motors. Mr. Ahrens was a Marine veteran of the Korean War. Red lived in Bull Shoals for 12 years moving from Three Rivers, Michigan. He was a life member of the VFW, member of the Eagles Lodge and the Moose Lodge. He was a wood cabinetry craftsman, and filled his house with his works. He also enjoyed antique cars.
Red Ahrens is survived by his beloved life companion, Shirley Weaver of Bull Shoals, AR, and her son, Dan (Rita), of Bull Shoals, AR, 2 sons, Michael Ahrens, of Three Rivers, MI, Russell (Patty) Ahrens, of Three Rivers, MI, daughter, Sandra (Dale Hiatt) Spence, of Leonidas, MI, brother, David Ahrens, of Stieger, Ill, and 5 Granndchildren, Logan, Carson, Olivia, Collin, and Maddie.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the North Central Arkansas Humane Society.
