Harold Rice

Harold Edwin Rice died on November 9, 2007 at Hospice House at the age of 92. He was born October 12, 1915 at Osage County, Kansas, the son of Clarence and Cynthia Mitchell Rice. He married Dorothy Brock on March 30, 1940 in Sacramento, California and had resided in the Cotter area since moving from California in 1984. He retired from the Civil Service at Mathers Air Force Base where he was a gardener. He was of the Church of Christ faith and loved to garden, fish, read, and word finding books. Survivors: by 2 sons, William Newton (Ardith) Rice of Norfork, Arkansas and Larry Edwin (Janice) Rice of Gassville, Arkansas; 1 daughter, JoAnn (Robert) Cline of Cotter, Arkansas; 10 Grandchildren; 29 Great Grandchildren; 2 brothers, Marlin Rice of Pomona, Kansas and W. V. (Marie) Rice of Orangevale, California. Preceded in Death by: his parents, wife, a son, Dale Lee Rice, 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Burial: Central Cemetery in Pomona, Kansas. Memorials: Memorials may be made to Hospice House in lieu of flowers
