A Funeral Mass for Harold Frank Wehmeyer of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, January 20, 2014, at St. Peter The Fisherman Catholic Church, with Father Norbert Rappold as Celebrant. Visitation will be Sunday, January 19, 2014 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel with a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm.
Harold passed away January 16, 2014, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 93. He was born April 30, 1920, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Herman and Theresa Bertelsmeier Wehmeyer. He married Florence Fleck Stillwagon on April 21, 1956, at Springfield, Illinois and was a sheet metal worker for Local Union 36. Harold lived in Mountain Home since 1964, moving from St. Louis, Missouri. Harold and Florence developed and owned the Rolling Meadows Mobile Home Estates. He was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church and was very active in the church. He was a daily communicant for over 30 years, member of Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration, a Eucharistic Minister and an alter server. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, traveling, fishing and rowing.
Harold is survived by his wife of 57 years, Florence Wehmeyer of Mountain Home, AR; three sons, Ben (Barbara) Stillwagon of Springfield, IL, Hal (Teresa) Wehmeyer of Mountain Home, AR and Bill (Dana) Wehmeyer of Mountain Home, AR, one daughter, Nora Byrne of Mountain Home, AR; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Burial will be in the Baxter Memorial Gardens, Mountain Home, Arkansas,with Hal Wehmeyer, Bill Wehmeyer, Ben Stillwagon, Howie Wehmeyer, Billy Wehmeyer and Michael Wehmeyer as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Joey Ehlinger, Brett Tackett, Zach Gillcoatt, William Keller, David Wehmeyer, Christopher Wehmeyer, Ben Schroeckenthaler and Ryan McGruder.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks.
