A Gathering of Friends will be from 1:00 pm until service time. Harvey Gene Bufford, 60, of Pineville, AR passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at his home. Harvey was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas on July 22, 1952 to the late Parker and Myrtle Bufford. Harvey was a talented artist, best known for his pottery, but also his unique drawings, paintings, and sculptures. He received a BA in Fine Arts from Arkansas State University in 1978 and then a Masters of Fine Arts from Arkansas State University in 1981. Harvey was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, swimming, cliff diving, and other water sports. He often shared these times with his brother, Phillip, and countless cousins and friends. While living in Branson, Missouri during the 1980?s-90?s he worked at Silver Dollar City at a pottery exhibit, made his own pottery for shows and sales, and was actively involved in the humane society, designing and building a facility for lost and abandoned animals. Care for animals was near and dear to his heart. Harvey was unique, had a passion for life, and lived it to the fullest. Those of us who knew and loved him will always have fond memories of times shared with Harvey. Harvey is preceded in death by his parents, Myrtle and Parker Bufford. He is survived by his wife, Jan Bufford, of the home, a daughter Holly Haman, son-In-law Lucas Haman, and grandson Collin Parker Haman of Franklin Tennessee, stepson Steve Estabrook and family, stepdaughter Ella Rapp and family, and several step-grandchildren. He also leaves behind a sister, Patricia (Edward) Williams and brother Dr. Phillip (Sherrie) Bufford and nieces Lonna, Lori, Janna, and Leah and nephews Daniel and Jacob. In lieu of flowers, Harvey would much rather donations be sent to: The Humane Society of North Central Arkansas, 2656 HWY 201 North, Mountain Home, Arkansas 72653.
