Hazel Dean Duncan of Springfield, Missouri, passed away January 19, 2024, in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 98. She was born August 25, 1925, in Monette, Arkansas, the daughter of Charles and Margie Slayton Krantz. She married Elmer Ray Duncan on October 25, 1941, in Pocahontas, Arkansas and was a homemaker for many years. The couple moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas from California in 1972. Hazel spent 10 years working for Baxter Lab. Hazel lived in Springfield, Missouri since moving from Mountain Home in August of 2013. She was a member of the Fremont Free Will Baptist Church and was a devout Christian. She enjoyed cooking and especially loved spending time with her family. Hazel was loved by everyone who knew her.
Hazel is survived by her sons, Jerry (Rebecca) Duncan of Springfield, MO, Ron (Sally) Duncan of Springfield, MO, Randy (Susan) Duncan of Orange, CA; daughter, Linda Schanderl of Huntington Beach, CA; 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Larry Duncan; daughter, Barbra Duncan; and her 16 older siblings.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 24, 2024, 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Service for Hazel will be 10:00 am, Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Scott Collins officiating. Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, AR, with Brian Duncan, Justin Duncan, Ken Duncan, Cody Duncan, Jerry Duncan, Jake Say, and Che Brooks as pallbearers.
