Hazel Irene Thomas

Hazel Irene Thomas of Gassville, Arkansas, passed away April 15, 2023, in Gassville, at the age of 71. She was born January 9, 1952, in Starkville, Mississippi, the daughter of Marvin and Mary Ratcliff Thomas. Hazel worked as a Registered Dietician. She enjoyed being with her family more than anything. Planting flowers with her daughters and granddaughters, fishing and sharing a cup of coffee with her son, getting gifts from her daughter-in-law, watching her grandsons play, and going out to dance and have a good time. She was the best bargain hunter there was and could take almost anything and create an interior design that would make Martha Stewart call her.

Her selflessness was matched only by her motherly heart and soul. She was a beautiful, strong, compassionate woman, and was the best momma, granny, and nae nae who never missed a moment to cherish her family. The world is a little darker now, but Heaven will be brighter for all that follow.

Hazel is survived by her son, Keith (Rosie) Harris of Lakeview, AR; daughter, Tiffany Teeter of Gassville, AR; sister, Diane (Steve) Weese of Mountain Home, AR; two grandsons, Jackson and Conner Harris; two granddaughters, Addison and Emma Grace Teeter; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Caroline (Carl) Jones, Bev Plowman and Madelyn Braunagel.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Anita McKnight and Delma Giachelli; and two brothers, Jerry and George Thomas.

A Funeral Service for Hazel will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Bill Hughes officiating. A visitation will be from 1:00 pm until time of service. Burial will be in the Gassville Cemetery with Keith Harris, Jackson Harris, Conner Harris, Steve Weese, Nick Gannon, Jr., and Ricky McKnight, as pallbearers.
