Visitation for Hazel L. Thompson, 94 of Mountain Home, AR, will be will be from 5-8 P.M., Friday, October 2 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at Chapel Hills West, Oak Brook Terrace, Illinois.
Hazel died September 30, 2009. She was born Thursday, August 26, 1915 in Polo, Illinois, daughter of Arthur H. and Estella Martin Nelson. She married Mark Thompson on December 16, 1935 at Dixon, Illinois and worked as a Surgical Corsetierre for Marshall Fields Co. Hazel lived in Mountain Home since 1976 moving from Hinsdale, Illinois. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Quilters Guild, North Mountain Home Extention Club, Golden Agers Bowling League, formerly Twin Lakes Golf Club, United Methodist Women, charter member of Twin Lakes Good Sam's Club, First United Methodist Church Golden Bells, Arts & Crafts Association and Koinonia Singles.
Hazel Thompson is survived by her daughter, Barbara (John) Taylor of Newton, IA, three grandchildren, Scott Taylor of Cedar Rapids, IA, Sarah (Dave) Burris of Zanesville, OH and Marilee (Stan) Norred of Santa Fe, TX, 8 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandsons and one sister, Eunice Walters of Amboy, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Marilyn, one brother, Ervin Nelson and one sister Viola Ellis. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church or Hospice of the Ozarks.
