She married Robert Andersen on August 11, 1951, in Penn Yan, New York. Helen enjoyed being a military wife and the travel and various duty stations of military life. She loved traveling around the United States in their RV after retirement and was a devoted fan of Lawrence Welk.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Sumner and husband Steve Ross of Bull Shoals, AR; son, David Andersen and wife Kaoru Hoshino of Gaithersburg, MD; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
