Henry W. Blanke Jr.

A Funeral Service for Henry W. Blanke, Jr. of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 3:00 pm, Thursday, December 18, 2014, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor John Easterling officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until time of service.

Henry passed away December 16, 2014, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 86. He was born July 22, 1928, in Blue Island, Illinois, the son of Henry and Ida Cogswell Blanke, Sr. He married Helen Yost on April 22, 1950 and worked in the Steel Mill Maintenance Department for Acme Steel. He also served as a fireman for the Dolton Fire Department. Henry lived in Mountain Home since 1981, moving from Dolton, Illinois. He was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church and Elks Lodge #1714 BPOE. He volunteered at Hospice of the Ozarks for 15 years and enjoyed fishing.

Henry is survived by his son, David Henry Blanke, Sr. of Mountain Home, AR; daughter, Debra Marie Blanke of West Chicago, IL; three grandchildren, David, Jr., Jason and Megan and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Helen; brother, Alan Blanke and sister, June Govern.

Inurnment will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, AR.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House.
