Henry Durham

Henry Durham went to his heavenly home, February 15, 2009 at Baxter Regional Medical Center. He was born in Jacksonville, Missouri on December 28, 1915 to Benjamin S. and Ethel Durham. Hank worked as an electrician for John Deere Harvester in East Moline, Illinois for 44 years. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War as a Master Sergeant and the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post #52 and VFW Post #3246. He was a member of the Calvary Bible Church in Midway, Arkansas. Hank was an avid St. Louis Cardinal Fan for over 80 years. On November 10, 1989 he married Madonna J. Durham in Des Moines, Iowa. Survivors: He is survived by his wife, son, Bill (Kate) Durham of Bluffton, SC, two daughters, Mary (Doug) Neves of Woodway, WA and Ruth (Ron) Harrison of Moline, IL, three stepsons, Charles W. (Terri) Sample of Atlanta, GA, Michael (Sheila) Sample of Des Moines, IA and Daryl Sample of Columbus, OH, step-daughter, Joy (Brad) Schneider of Waterloo, IA, 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchldren and his little dog, Fuzzy. Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Kay, second wife Fannie, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Visitation: Visitation will be from 4:00 - 6:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at Kirby and Family Funeral Home. Funeral: Services for Henry " Hank" Lloyd Durham, 93, of Mountain Home, AR, will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 19, 2009 at Kirby and Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Roy Crane officiating. Burial: A graveside service will be in the Greenville Memorial Park, East Moline, Illinois, at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, February 21, 2009. Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Calvary Bible Church or Alzheimers Association. Honorary Bearers: Gunner Rausch, Bob Anderson, Bill Klumb, Gerritt Gelder and Ted Anema as honorary pallbearers.
