Henry Marsalis

Henry Bernard ?Buddy? Marsalis, 84, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, September 09, 2012. A visitation will be Wednesday September 12, 2012, from 5-7PM at Kirby & Family Funeral Home in Bull Shoals, Arkansas. Graveside services will be 11AM Friday September 14, 2012, at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson, Mississippi. Buddy was born December 12, 1927, in Jackson, Mississippi to Noel Denton and Clara Sanders Marsalis. Buddy graduated from Forest Hills High School outside of Jackson, MS. He served his country in the United States Navy and came home to marry Willene Weatherall on January 21, 1949. Buddy worked for Mississippi Power and Light for 23 years as a company pilot. He retired to Arkansas in 1994. Buddy was a good Christian man and a member of the Midway Baptist Church. One thing is for sure, once you met him you wouldn?t forget him. He is survived by his wife, Willene Marsalis of Lakeview, AR; sons, Randy (Becky) Marsalis of Laredo, TX and David (Heather) Marsalis of Fairview, AR; brothers, Denton Marsalis of Abilene, TX and Billy (Maria) Marsalis of Gilmer, TX; sister, Geraldine Williams of Terry, MS; 4 granddaughters, Casey, Darcy, Danielle and Carmen; 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one great-grandchild. Memorials may be to Hospice House of the Ozarks. Arrangements by Kirby & Family Funeral & Cremation Services.
