A Funeral Service for Herbert Marlin Severn of Gamaliel, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, July 11, 2015, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be Friday, July 10, 2015, from 5:00 until 8:00 pm, at the funeral home.
Herbert passed away July 8, 2015, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 85. He was born March 20, 1930, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the son of John W. and Edna E. Carmen Severn. He married Kathern Baker on August 9, 1953 at Wichita, Kansas and worked as a Flight Engineer for Pam-Am Airlines. Herbert was a U.S. Air Force veteran of Korean War. Herbert lived in Gamaliel since the 1980's, moving from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Herbert is survived by his wife, Kathern Severn of Gamaliel, AR; son, Steven (Monica) Severn of Pembroke Pines, FL two daughters, Cindy DeBergh of Gamaliel, AR and Belinda C. Severn of Claremont, FL; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild and two sisters, Ila Marie and Goldie
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Burial will be in the Maynard Bend Cemetery, Gamaliel, Arkansas. Military Honors will be provided by the Alley-White American Legion Post #52 and U.S. Air Force Honor Guards.
