Funeral services for Herbert Sidney Gay, 71, of Mountain Home, AR, will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday, November 1, 2009 at Twin Lakes Baptist Church, with Dr. Sam Bailey officiating.
Visitation will be from 2 P.M. until service time at the church.
Herbert died Wednesday, October 28, 2009 in Mountain Home. He was born Tuesday, August 2, 1938 in Charleston, Missouri, son of Donald and Nina Fredrick Gay. He married Shirley A. Boinott on November 16, 1957 at Charleston, Missouri and was an Administrative Assistant to the Pastor of Twin Lakes Baptist Church. Herbert Gay was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He lived in Mountain Home since 1986 moving from Pensacola, Florida and was a member of Twin Lakes Baptist Church. He enjoyed wood crafting and loved building.
Herbert is survived by his wife, Shirley A. Gay, 2 sons, Herbert Wayne Gay of Mountain Home, AR and Michael Lee (Penny) Gay of Birmingham, AL, daughter, Kimberly Ann Upchurch of South Haven, MS, sister, Naomi McKinney of Charleston, MO, 5 grandchildren, Josh (Amanada) Upchurch, Christine Gay, Matt Upchurch, Tiffany Gay and Aaron Gay.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Cynthia Pauline and 3 sisters.
Burial will be in Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas with Josh Upchurch, Matt Upchurch, Aaron Gay, Brent Bloomquist, John Tinkle and Darrell Hardman as pallbearers.
Memorials may be made toTwin Lake Baptist Church Hope Center.
