Holly Marie Payne of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away March 10, 2023, at the age of 80. She was born August 28, 1942, in Saint Charles, Illinois, the daughter of Dwight and Esther Swanson Miller. She loved Jesus early on in her life and was active in the Salvation Army Christian Church, with her parents and brothers. Holly's baptism was in the Church of God of Prophecy in the Fox River, in Saint Charles, Illinois. Later in life, she became a member of Simpkins Chapel United Methodist Church in Tennessee. Holly was a cheerleader at Saint Charles High School. She worked a variety of jobs including; Illinois Bell Telephone Company, J.C. Penny, McDonald's, and spent many years with Walmart.
Holly's favorite activities were crocheting, cross stitch, and watching Nascar racing. She also enjoyed watching football, baseball, and golf with her family. Her most cherised times in recent years, were watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play an array of sports such as; football, baseball, soccer, and volleyball. Holly volunteered as a Girl Scout Leader when her daughters were young, and again when her granddaughters were in Girl Scouts. She also volunteered with Ronald McDonald House, Children's Miracle Network, Hospice of the Ozarks' Relay for Life team, and McDonald's and Walmart to assist with local charities.
Holly married the love of her life, Fred Payne, on November 30, 1973. They had many wonderful years together raising their daughters and welcoming their grandchildren and great-grandchildren into the world. Holly is survived by her daughters, Sherri Stephens of Springfield, TN, and Cindy (Russell) Conn of Mountain Home, AR; grandchildren, James (Tasha) Davis, Lisa (Trinity) Moon, Andrea (Tim) Edwards, Amanda (Jessica) Kelley, Russell Conn Jr., Heather (Jesse) Perkins, Brittany (Obie) Igbonehua, and David Stephens; 29 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also blessed with daughters from her extended families, Brenda Lisa Patterson and Sherrie Conn.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Wesley and Larry Miller; and son-in-law, Enis Stephens.
A Funeral Service for Holly will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Mickey D. Pendergrass officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, March 16, 2023, 1:00 pm until service time. A private family burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, with Russell Conn, James Davis, Trinity Moon, Tim Edwards, Russell Conn, Jr., Jesse Perkins, and Obie Igbonehua as honorary pallbearers.
