Horst Durern was born August 25, 1919, in Schmolln, Germany. He was the son of George and Elsa Brumma Dufern. He married Kaye Franke, May 18, 1974, in Antioch, Illinois. He attended Chicago Tech College and was employed in auto repair. He was a friend of Bill W. He lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas since moving from Lake Bluff, Illinois in 1989. Horst Durern passed away January 25, 2006, at the age of 86 years and 5 months. Survivors: His wife of thirty-two years, Kaye Dufern of Mountain Home, Arkansas; son, Michael (Gail) Dufern; five daughters, Geraldine Schindel, Lisa (Steven) Fink, Renee Boothe, Andrea Dolan, and Anna Gold; fourteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Richard Dufern; and two sisters, Anita Hinkle and Irma Susinka Preceded in Death by: His parents; one son, Vincent Mears; one daughter, Linda Pedersen; and one brother, Heintz Dufern Funeral: A gathering of friends for Horst Dufern will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 28, 2006 at Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home Chapel.
