Howard LeRoy Donley Passed away on September 28, 2024 at the age of 93. Howard, also known as "Podie," born on November 20, 1930, in Lansing, Michigan. A creative, talented, smart, and dedicated man, Howard's life was a testament to his hard work, resilience, and unwavering commitment to his loved ones and community. His unique blend of toughness and tenderness, combined with a straight-shooter attitude, made him a beloved figure who will be missed.
Podie had a keen eye for detail and was a master carpenter, having honed his skills at DL Kessler, from where he retired. His talent and dedication to his craft were seen in the homes he built, a testament to his craftsmanship. Podie was not just a builder of homes but also a builder of relationships. He was an active member of the Laingsburg VFW, a former member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Lansing, and of St. Isidore Holy Family Catholic Church in Laingsburg. He found joy in simple pleasures, such as tending to his lawn, sunbathing, and losing himself in the pages of a Zane Grey book.
Howard is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Donley, with whom he shared 72 years of marriage, and their children Donna (Mike) Bulock, Christine Wyne, Howard (Kristine) Donley, Beth Donley, and Aimee (Bryan) Guenther; 12 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; sister, Elizabeth Corbin as well as many nieces and nephews. Howard precedes in death his parents, Floyd and Leona Donley, 9 siblings, and son-in-law, Donald Wyne.
