Funeral services for Huey A. Wilhite of Gassville, Arkansas, will be 11:00 AM Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Harmony Freewill Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time at the church.
Huey died Monday, June 21, 2010 at Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House, at the age of 80. He was born June 16, 1930 in Paragould, Arkansas, the son of Herman and Elizabeth Moore Wilhite. Huey Wilhite was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He married Betty Wright on October 6, 1951 at Piggott, Arkansas. Huey lived in Gassville, Arkansas since 1975 moving from Paragould, Arkansas. He was the custodian a the Mountain Home School District and a butcher. He loved his family and grandchildren, was a devoted family man and hard worker. He enjoyed working in his yard, gardening and cooking.
Huey is survived by his wife, Betty, 3 sons, Hulen (Beverly) Wilhite of Mountain Home, AR, Keith (Sandy) Wilhite of Flippin, AR and Farron (Angie) Wilhite of Mountain Home, AR; 2 daughters, Linda (Vernis) Miller and Pamela (Darrell) Fears both of Gassville, AR; 3 sisters, Agnes Rodgers of Paragould, AR, Ruby Myracle of Paragould, AR and Eva Nell Jones of Caruthersville, MO; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers.
Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery with Justin, Nicholas and Jared Wilhite, Bradford Young, Lance Newton and Brad Morris as pallbearers. Jordan Wilhite will be an honorary pallbearer. Military honors will be provided by Ozark V.F.W. Post #3246 Honor Guard.
Memorials may be made to the Harmony Freewill Baptist Church or Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House.
