Ilona Klaus

Ilona Klaus, 94, of Jordan passed away on Monday, April 26, 2010 at White River Health Care. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 3, 2010 at the Hand Cemetery in Jordan. Mrs. Klaus was born in Riga, Latvia on March 28, 1916. She overcame her fear of water and boats and emigrated from Germany to the U.S. with her husband and two of her children in 1949. She raised her family in Franklin Park, IL and moved to Jordan in 1965. She will be remembered for her love of gardening and her flowers, grand storytelling, and wonderful sense of humor. The last years of her life were made comfortable by the exceptional staff of White River Health Care in Calico Rock. Mrs. Klaus was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred V. Klaus and is survived by her three children; Ligita Fahlgren and her husband Lester of Schaumburg, IL, Alfred J. "Jerry" Klaus and his wife Deanna of Jordan, AR and Selga "Susie" Palys and her husband Matt of Lake in the Hills, IL, and four grandchildren, Erik Fahlgren and his wife Anne of Brooklyn, NY, David Fahlgren of Lake in the Hills, IL, Julie Fahlgren of Genoa, IL and Adam Velazco of Tempe, AZ. Memorials may be made to the Rodney Volunteer Fire Department. Arrangements are by Kirby & Family Funeral & Cremation Services.
