Funeral Services for Inis Mae Proctor, 90, of Bull Shoals, Arkansas, will be 10:00 AM, Friday, July 25, 2014, at the First Baptist Church in Bull Shoals, Arkansas, with Reverend Jerry Backus officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday, July 24, 2014, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home in Bull Shoals, Arkansas. Mae went to be with her savior on July 22, 2014, at Twin Lakes Nursing Center in Flippin, Arkansas.
Inis Mae was born at Bruno, Arkansas, on April 12, 1924, to Oscar F. and Edna Burnes Gray. She met Earl Proctor on a school trip to Branson and they married August 4, 1943, at Yellville, Arkansas. Mae and Earl did seasonal work in Yakima, Washington, for thirty years where Mae packed asparagus at Bird’s Eye frozen food and canned fruits and vegetables at Libby Cannery. They built their home in Bull Shoals, Arkansas, in 1946 and when they came home to stay in 1971 she worked for Roy Danuser in the tourism industry for twenty-five years at Top of the Ozarks Tower and Mountain Village & Bull Shoals Caverns. She was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Bull Shoals, Arkansas. Mae enjoyed growing pretty flowers, making new friends and keeping her house clean.
She is survived by her son, Ron (Laura) Proctor of Flippin, AR; grandchildren, Jennifer (Beau) Barnes and Zach Proctor (fiancé, Rachel Edwards) of Fayetteville, AR; great-grandchildren, Ruby Barnes and one on the way as well as many nieces and nephews. Her husband Earl, son James, and all three brothers, Lucian, Grady and JC Gray, preceded her in death.
Memorials may be made to the Bull Shoals Historical Society.
Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, Arkansas, with Paul Gray, Dan Benton, Jeff Benton, Seth Gray, Brett Gray, and Zach Proctor as pallbearers.
