Ivan Francis "Curly" Welch was born May 10, 1910, in Knox County, Illinois. He was the son of John and Lillie Merriot Welch. He served with the United Staters Army during World War II as a Tech Sergeant. He worked as an OMC-Flywheel Balancer with Gale Products, twenty-four years. He moved to Gamaliel, Arkansas from Galesburg, Illinois in 1975. Ivan "Curly" Welch passed away at Hospice House, March 21, 2006, at the age of 95 years, 10 months and 11 days.
