Funeral Services for Jack H. Carlstrom of Mountain Home, AR, will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M., Monday, February 1 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home.
Jack Carlstrom died Thursday, January 28, 2010 in Mountain Home at the age of 86. Mr. Carlstrom was born Thursday, February 1, 1923 in Chicago, IL, son of Harold Nils and Catherine Barrett Carlstrom. He married Charlene Wilson on July 22, 1950 at Oak Park, IL. He worked as a Supervisor for Western Electric. Jack Carlstrom was an Army veteran of WWII. Jack lived in Mountain Home since 1980 moving from Bellwood, IL. He worked as a summer ranger for the Corps of Engineers at Norfork and was a Member of the Ozark V.F.W. Post #3246 and Alley-White American Legion Post #52. An artist and avid fisherman, he followed his dreams and came to Mountain Home. In doing so he made a place of great memories for his children and grandchildren. He inspired us all and touched our lives with love, humor, and compassion.
Jack Carlstrom is survived by his wife, Charlene Carlstrom, 2 Sons, Stephen (Dee) Carlstrom of Downers Grove, IL, Andrew Carlstrom of Bloomington, IN, Daughter, Cathy (Gary) Clarke of Berkeley, IL, 7 Grandchildren; Noel (Michael) Scott, Dr. Luke (Maria) Carlstrom, Erin (John) Olsen, Shawon Carlstrom, Jessica Clarke, Shane (Jennifer) Clarke, Travis Clarke, and 5 Great-Grandchildren; Allison and Matthew Scott, Matias and Joaquin Carlstrom, and Jackson Clarke.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers.
