A gathering to celebrate the life of Jack Leon Defenbaugh of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 4:00 to 6:00 PM Friday, November 19, 2010 at Kirby Family Funeral Home Chapel.
Jack died Sunday, November 14, 2010 at his residence, at the age of 71. He was born February 24, 1939 in Bloomington, Illinois, the son of Ross N. and Ada Ohm Defenbaugh. Jack Defenbaugh was a 4 year, U.S. Navy veteran on the Destroyer U.S.S. Davis (DD-937) and 2 year reservist. He married Roxanne Keepers on September 29, 1962 in Baraboo, Wisconsin and worked as a Director of Finance for Caterpillar Inc. He lived and worked in Brazil from 1974 - 1980. Jack lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas since 1994 moving from Morton, Illinois. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, reading, movies, music, sports, and travel.
Jack is survived by his wife, Roxanne of Mountain Home, AR; mother, Ada Duncan, daughter,Valerie Defenbaugh of Henry, IL; son, Erik (Lisa) Defenbaugh and granddaughter, Marina J. Defenbaugh of Madison, WI; brother, Jim (Cathy) Derby of Mt. Zion, IL and best friend, Buster, his yellow lab.
He was preceded in death by his father. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Ozarks or American Cancer Society.
