Funeral Services for Jack L. Nichols, 81, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 10:00 AM Friday, November 11, 2011, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend David Gadbow officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Thursday, November 10, 2011, at the Funeral Home. Jack died Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at Baxter Regional Medical Center. Jack was born November 27, 1929, in David City, NE, the son of Floyd and Stella Stracek Nichols. He married Rita Heninger on June 24, 1951 at David City, NE. He worked as a Control Operator for NW Iowa Power Coop. Jack Nichols was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and Korean Wars. He lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas since July 1999 moving from LeMars, Iowa. He was a member of Hamm Radio Club of Mountain Home and the Twin Lakes Gun Club. He loved talking on his Hamm Radio and handling guns. Jack is survived by one son, David (Laura) Nichols of Houston, TX; one daughter, Diana Butler of Louisiana; 3 sisters, Virginia (Rich) Rerucka and Ruth Nichols of David City, NE, Norma (Don) Woolsey of Seward, Nebraska; 8 grandchildren; 1 great-grandaughter and loving companion, Rosemary Kirk of Mountain Home, AR. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one son Dan Nichols. Burial will be in the David City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Stephen Ministry. Arrangements are by Kirby & Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
