A Funeral Mass for Jacob (Jack) A. Ernst of Mountain Home will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday January 25, 2007 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church with Reverend James Fanrak officiating. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. with a vigil service at 7 p.m., Wednesday January 24, 2007 at Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home. Mr. Ernst was 91. Jack Ernst was born November 19, 1915, at Chicago, IL, to Jacob and Karolina Geistlinger Ernst. He married his first wife of 42 years, Lucille Gawlik Ernst in Streator, IL. Lucille passed away in 1980. He was a financial officer in the rug making business for most of his career. Mr. Ernst was an Army veteran of WWII. He lived in Des Plaines, IL before moving to Mountain Home in 1977. Mr. Ernst married his second wife, Mary Ann Mytnik Ernst on July 25, 1981, at Mountain Home. They were married just shy of 25 years. Mr. Ernst was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the Moose Lodge. Many people in the surrounding area may have received a paper plate drawing from Jack, as it was his favorite hobby. Jack Ernst is survived by his brother, Frank Ernst, of Briarcliff, 2 nieces, Sharon (Henry) Urbanski, of Lemont, IL, Dr. Janice (Russell) Genovese, of Northbrook, IL, nephew Rich Ernst, of San Diego, CA, and many other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his 1st and 2nd wives. Burial will be in Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery Mausoleum with Mayor David Osmon, Rich Ernst, Russell Genovese, Tom Grubbe, and Henry Urbanski as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks. Arrangements are by Kirby-Boaz Funeral Directors.
