James Barnes died Saturday, July 26, 2008 in St. Johns Hospital in Springfield. He was 63. He was born Monday, December 4, 1944 in Harrisburg, Arkansas, son of Carthel and Margaret Ruth May Barnes. He served in the U.S. Navy for 22 years and was a Vietnam Veteran. He married Ann Thomason on January 19, 1992 at Carson City, Nevada and moved to Mountain Home in 1993 from Modesto, California. Jim worked at Baxter Healthcare. He was a Life Member of the Ozark VFW Post #3246, a Member of the Alley White American Legion Post #52 and a member of the Yamaha Star Touring and Riding Association. Survivors: Jim is survived by his wife, Ann Barnes of Mountain Home, 3 daughters, Kimberly Michelle Jackson of Myrtle Creek, OR, Karey Ann (Paul) Stoeck of Modesto, CA, and Marijo Helms of Canyon Lake, TX, 14 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 3 sisters, Judy Bill of Flippin, AR, Jackie (Ed) Jones of Millington, TN, and Cindy Barnes of Clovis, CA. Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, one sister and two brothers. Visitation: Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Funeral Home. Funeral: A Funeral Service for James Carthel Barnes of Mountain Home will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 29 at the Kirby and Family Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jon Gilbert officiating. Burial: Interment will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, with military honors provided by the Alley White American Legion Post # 52 Honor Guard Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Ozark VFW Post #3246. Active Bearers: Pallbearers will be members of the Star Touring and Riding Association.
