James Brown

Graveside services for James Allen Brown of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 4:00 PM Saturday, May 29, 2010 at Stoney Point Cemetery, Fordyce, Arkansas with Reverend Jerry Hillman officiating.

James died Sunday, May 23, 2010 at Mountain Home, at the age of 85. He was born September 1, 1924 in Bearden, AR, the son of Lewis Jackson Brown and Katie Clemens Brown. James Brown was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. He married Janie Merle Hillman on July 25, 1952 and was an inspector at the Blytheville AFB. James lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas since 2001 moving from St. James, Missouri. He loved quail hunting, stock car racing, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family, grandkids and friends.


James is survived by 2 sons, Steven (Carol) Brown of Gamaliel, AR, Donald Allen Brown of St. James, MO; 5 grandkids, Christie (Jason) Jonas of DeSoto, MO, Steven Jr. (Amanda) Brown of Rolla, MO., Allen Brown of Gamaliel, AR and Jared and Lakota Brown of St. James, MO, 2 great-grandkids, Sydney Jane Jonas of DeSoto, Mo and Chloe Aubrey Brown of Rolla, MO, brother, Clarence (JoAnn) Brown of Fordyce, AR and several nieces, nephews, and inlaws.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Janie M. Brown, parents, and 2 sisters.
