James Carey

James Carey was born April 26, 1928 at Willisburg, Kentucky to Marsdon and Lizzie Mae Carey. He married Kaye Smith on July 3, 1953 at Dekalb, IL. James was a homebuilder and fifteen year employee of Baxter Regional Medical Center working in the maintenance department. He was a proud member of the Illinois National Guard and served in the Army during the Korean War as a corporal in the service company of the 44th division, 129th infantry. James lived in Lakeview for thirty years moving here from Cortland, Illinois. He was a member of the Hoevel-Barnett Veterans of Foreign War Post #1341. James was an avid fisherman, loved to garden, and was a member of the North Arkansas Woodcarvers Association. He was a devoted grandfather. He was a member of the Bull Shoals United Methodist Church. Survivors: He is survived by his wife Kaye Carey of Lakeview, AR, two sons, Brad Carey (Peggy) of Dekalb, Il and Bart Carey (Pamela) of Wood River, Il, one daughter, Carla Bolding (Michael) of Fairbanks, AK, his mother, Lizzie Mae Carey of Sycamore, Il, four brothers, Donald Carey, Kingston, Il, Rodman Carey(Maxine) of Aurora, Il and Vernon Carey(Roxy) of Kingston, Il, Richard Carey(Patricia) of Mountain Home and four grandchildren Samantha and Garrett Bolding and Marina and Stephanie Carey. Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his father. Visitation: Visitation will be from 4PM to 7 PM on Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at Kirby and Family Funeral Home in Bull Shoals, AR. Funeral: Funeral services for James E. Carey of Lakeview, AR will be at 10 A.M. Thursday March 21, 2007 at Bull Shoals United Methodist Church with Reverend Nicholas Lascaro officiating. Burial: Entombment will be in Kirby Tucker Memorial Cemetery. Memorials: Memorials may be made to Hoevel-Barnett Veterans of Foreign War Post #1341. Active Bearers: Rodman Carey, Vernon Carey, Richard Carey, Frank Urlacher, Wendel Crites and John Davis will be pallbearers.
