James Oakley "J.O." Felts
September 27, 1938 — March 6, 2017
A Funeral Service for James Oakley (J.O.) Felts of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 11:00 am, Thursday, March 9, 2017, at Viola First Baptist Church, with Brother Larry Ring officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 8, 2017, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Kirby and Family Funeral Home and Thursday, March 9, 2017, from 10:00 until time of service at the church.
J.O. passed away March 6, 2017, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 78. He was born September 27, 1938, in Viola, Arkansas, the son of Dick and Minnie (Paschall) Felts. He graduated from Viola High School with the Class of 1956. He worked and retired from MarBax Shirt Co. and was a School Bus Driver at Viola. For many years, he enjoyed working the Wheat Harvest in Bucklin, Kansas. J.O. was a lifetime resident of the Twin Lakes area. He was a member of the Viola Baptist Church and was honored to receive the Resident of the Year Award at Care Manor Nursing Home.
J.O. is survived by his daughter, Cindy (Nathan) Lester of Gepp, AR; grandchildren, Ashley (Alex) Kellams of Yellville, AR, Quinton Wells of Mountain Home, AR and Isaac Wells of Gepp, AR; great-grandchildren, Tanner and Rhylea; brother, Bobby (Madge) Felts of Salem, AR; sister, Patsy (Connie Hutson) Carroll of Viola, AR; sister, Janice (Garry) Williams of Viola, AR; brother, Ken (Barb) Felts of Viola, AR and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Joyce Felts and wife, Ann Felts.
Burial will be in the Viola Cemetery, Viola, Arkansas, with Isaac Wells, Quinton Wells, Scotty Carroll, Greg Williams, Mike Hart and Dakota Murphy as pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to Viola Cemetery or the Humane Society of North Central Arkansas.
