A Graveside Service for James Cecil "Hillbilly" Fox of Gamaliel, Arkansas, will be 11:00 am, Monday, April 18, 2016, at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Joliet, Illinois, with Reverend Greg Eichelberger officiating. Pallbearers will be Shawn Maloney, Bobby Peterson, Larry Little, Kyle Little and Ryan Little.
Jim passed away April 13, 2016, in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 75. He was born April 29, 1940, in Gadsen, Alabama, the son of I.M. and Evelyn McElroy Fox. He married Margaret Eichelberger on August 18, 1979, in Joliet, Illinois and worked as a welder for the railroad. Jim lived in Gamaliel since 2003, moving from Romeoville, Illinois. Jim was a hard worker that loved to fish and help people out. He was a very musical person, he enjoyed writing music, playing the guitar and singing. Jim leaves behind his two beloved dogs, Scooter and Hope.
James is survived by his four sons, Scott (Naneth) Peterson of OR, Rick Peterson of IL, Joe Peterson of MI and Jimmy Peterson of MI; sister, Barbara (Phillip) Croft of Dunwoody, GA; brother, Emory (Charlette) Fox of Austell, GA; nine grandchildren, Anna, Shawn, Bobby, Augie, Larry, Sara, Jimmy, Justin and Korin; twelve great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and son, Randy Fox.
