James Frank Heenan

Funeral services for James Frank "Jim" Heenan will be Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 10:00 am at the College and North Street Church of Christ with Brother Ken Burton and Brother Bill Dillon officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 25, 2017, with family receiving friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Kirby and Family Funeral Home.

Jim, age 79, passed away July 21, 2017, in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He was born on March 25, 1938, in Mountain Home, Arkansas, the son of Earl Daniel Heenan and Hazel Jobson Heenan.

Jim grew up in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He graduated from Mountain Home High School. Jim was self-employed for most of his life and had several successful businesses, including owning a service station in Wichita, Kansas, putting in a mobile home park in Gassville, Arkansas, and selling cars for several years in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He was most passionate about his fireworks business, Galaxy Fireworks, that he and his wife ran for more than forty (40) years. He said it was the best job he ever had, and he enjoyed helping people pick out their fireworks.

He was an avid hunter. His favorite was turkey hunting. He loved to call turkeys. He also liked to hunt for deer and pheasants. Most of all, he enjoyed taking his friends hunting.

He loved spending time with his family, his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was known as Pappaw.

He had a heart of gold and would help anyone. He was a member of the College & North Street Church of Christ in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Anne, to whom he was married 60 years; his son, Steve Heenan and his wife, Billie of Mountain Home, Arkansas; his daughter, Franki Coulter and her husband, Chris of Denver, Colorado; 3 grandchildren, Steven Heenan, Chelsea Kaye and Daniel Heenan; 4 great-grandchildren, Audrian Litty, Bryce Litty, Zoey Kaye and Ethan Kaye; and 4 siblings: John, Jerry, Joe and Jerome.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Joel Heenan and Corinne Pleasant.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to the Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House, 701 Burnett Drive, Mountain Home, Arkansas 72653 or the Children's Home Inc., 5515 Walcott Road, Paragould, Arkansas 72450.
