James "Jerry" Blake Owen

James "Jerry" Blake Owen of Gassville, AR, passed away November 13, 2022 at the age of 80. He was born August 7, 1942, in Hope, Arkansas, the son of Benjamin Joseph and Autrey Blake Owen. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Jerry started out working in the family business running hotels, department stores and restaurant and catering. He also started Sunshine Cattle Company where he raised cattle and horses. In the mid 90's he was a real estate broker and agent, before opening Sunshine Trading Company in Gassville, AR, where he has been for the last 30 years.

Jerry is survived by his daughter, Jamie Lynn Owen, Irving, TX and his siblings, Betty Rowe, of Kingman, AZ and Judith Hipp, of Cabot, AR.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Nancy Jean Owen and Major Ben P. Owen.

A Memorial Service for Jerry will be 10:00 am, Friday, November 18, 2022, at Twin Lakes Baptist Church, with Dr. Sam Bailey and Pastor Bill Hughes officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Snuggle's Fund at All Creatures Veterinary Hospital, 4549 US-62, Mountain Home, AR 72653.
